“Alright…GOD I HATE DOING MUSHI STUFF LIKE THIS.”
Stomping her feet around the bottom level of the warehouse, Mashiro had stayed up nights on in trying to figure out the perfect gift for her bestfriend, and dear sister. But what would be the perfect gift? She’d discarded to many idea’s a long the line, that towards the end of it there was nothing left.
Girly things did appeal to Lisa, but not as much as her normal manga, and it turned out that Love had done a good job in getting her a gift, she’d loved it. Now since she was second in line, her gift had to be just as good, or close. The male Vizard and herself always competed when it came to Lisa’s attention, tho both with very different motives.
Mashiro wasn’t one to share, and Love wanted exactly that, her love. But she’d never be one to blow that secret out of the water, no matter how much she’d love to use that ace.
Looking down at the wrapped gift in her hand, it was merely a few inches bigger than her palm, extending outward past all sides. Wrapped in bright purple paper, and a silver bow, it was time to give it to her. She’d only gotten her flowers to day of, and wanted more than anything for this to be ready, but it had to be perfect so time was needed.
“Feh, I hate thinking I owe that old man anything, but I have to say…he did come through for me, so it be only fair to give him some credit.” For a split second Mashiro smiled, and remembered how he didn’t even hesitate to help her, despite how much the two bickered and fought.
Looking up to the second level her hazel eyes began to move around to make sure that no one was active up there, seeing no movement Mashiro jumped up and ran off in the direction of Lisa’s room.
Reaching it faster than normal, she stood there nervously. How the hell was she gonna explain being so nice at this moment, “She’s gonna think I’m soft…” A birthday was only once a year, so maybe showing one day of weakness wouldn’t be so bad.
Debating between her normal entry, and actually knocking. Robotically she raised a hand to knock quietly, “Lisa are you in there?” When the voice of the ravenette reached her ears, Mashiro walked in and simply jumped up and landed on the bed beside her.
“I’m sorry it’s late, but I had to make sure it was perfect, and before you jump to conclusions I didn’t steal it, or beat up anyone for it. We had it made for you…just for you.”
Sitting the package next to her, with one gentle push it made contact with her leg, then the greenette turned sideways to hide the faint blush on her cheeks.
Inside of the small box laid a replica of her old Lieutenants badge, one made just for her as a remembrance of her life. No matter how much she denied it, it was a time she missed more than anything, a long with the old man. The badge had the squads number just like the original, but at the end between the small gaps in one corner laid a graving of a flower, that he used to identify with. Just as she finished opening it, and the expression she wore on her face, Mashiro pulled out from behind her the hat of the man that had been her accomplice.
“I got you this too, he sends his regards. Happy Birthday Lisa.”

” That was fast;;;;; “

” Fine fine, you don’t have to be so pushy ~ ” He said handing her the item.

” Oh hush ! You think I’m not scuffling? I’m a day late too, two even !”
Having woman problems I see….
*clears throat*
Come with me son, You’ve a lot to learn.
* gripped him by the tie and pulled him, because there was a tie to pull *“Problems? What are you-“
But before the Quincy could pose his question further he had already been forced by the bearded shinigami.
“W-Wait! What the hell are you doing!?!”
” I told ya before~. I’m helpin’ you out, yeah? “
The captain continued to drag the boy with him — eventually back to his barracks.
” Sit down ~ Do you like candy, Quincy-boy? “

” You spoil me too much Lisa-chaaan~ “
He muttered repaying her in candy as well.
The ever-grinning man wouldn’t particularly deem this day as unordinary, or different, yet something nagged at him advocating that today would be interesting. Though what it was he couldn’t predict, that is, until while trailing one of his infamous walks around Seireitei he stumbled across a familiar looking lump of pink along with a straw hat slowly rising and falling with each breath of the owner. It was odd, not to find the elder man lazying about, but to find the man so far away from his own quarters and without a nagging lieutenant at his heels.
Smirk only fading momentarily to be replaced by a questioning frown. Curiosity got the best of our fox as he proceeded to make his way to the resting captain. Gin’s smile returned as he thought of the possibilities for the choice of location. Perhaps he had been chased out by young Nanao in another chaotic pattern of laziness and scolding.
Kyōraku must have easily felt the presence of the younger captain approaching and choose to remain is his position. Taking this opportunity Gin lowered himself so he carefully balanced on the balls of his feet, and arms rested themselves on his creased legs. With a single smooth movement he lifted the hat from the hair-covered face, eye remaining shut, but his facial features slightly different. Gin joked with himself, but the discovery of a certain… sadness within the features made him question whether or not there was truly a scuffle with Nanao. Eyelid movement revealed two glossy, grey hues attempting to recognize Gin’s features.
“Hey there Kyōraku-taichou~” Gin’s features softened into a more relaxed smile.
It was out of Gin’s character to make unnecessary conversation, and even more so to sincerely enjoy the presence of another. However, with Kyōraku it was simple to get along with him and was a rare case in which it wasn’t necessary to reach for some fake smile or forged complimenting words. He was an easy man to talk to if nothing else.
“What’s wit’ the long face?”
The day was young and beautiful. Why wouldn’t someone like Kyoraku take a load off to enjoy such an atmosphere?
Even though he did have paperwork to tend to, the captain put it away in his mind and focused on enjoying the weather.
Not long from then, his lieutenant walking in the office, seeing the mess of papers that had yet to be done. As usual, she thought as she then took out her vengeance on the Captain.
Kyoraku, had yet again been kicked out for neglecting his duties and Nanao sent him off with harsh words and a book to the face.
He was quite used to this scene playing out, he could shake off much of anything that had been said at the moment.
However this time her words stung and stuck to him, maybe it was because he was drunk. Either way, he set out to vent and take a breather from the stressful surroundings.
Once he had ventured far enough from the barracks, he kneeled down to the ground and rested his back against a wall. As the captain sat there, he could feel a familiar spiritual energy drawing closer to himself. Though at the time he was too busy feeling sorry for himself. He didn’t bother to move or act, he just sat there—mute.
Suddenly he felt his hat slowly lift from off of his head, his eyes shot up to verify who the person was. Though he was pouting, he was somewhat happy to see his fellow captain. Ichimaru was someone that not many people trusted, but he was ok in Kyoraku’s point of view.
He was very laid back much like himself, so he could relate to Gin, most times.
Kyoraku raised an eyebrow and gave a light smile to Ichimaru, his expression still saddened.
” Hey ‘Maru-san~ “ He replied, staying in the pitiful position.
When Gin asked what was wrong with him, he almost instantly noticed just how childish he was being.
Denial was just about the best thing going for him at this time.
” Ne, I was just a bit pensive. No problems though~. “ He said waving his hands a little by his sides.
” I’ll say, you’re a sight for sore eyes. How have you been ?”
